Mass Grave Pictures is the brainchild of Manny and Lindsay Serrano, an indie horror outfit that have been digging up tales from the crypts of Long Island and NYC since 2008. With a penchant for practical effects, together they've  produced over a dozen short films including the Rondo-Award Nominated MissUnderstood Monster and demonically entertaining Matroyshka as well as four feature films:

Teaming up with many local independent filmmakers over the years, they've been haunting the tri-state areas film shoots alongside production cohorts Devarez Films, Reel Prophecy Pictures, New Needle Productions, Open Iris Productions, Intention Films And Media, and others. Most recently, they were hired by Michael DeFellipo (HorrorSociety.com) to produce and direct his wickedly funny shot A Rough Start (2025).

Lindsay and Manny have also served as Film Festival Organizers and Judges at several film festivals including Macabre Faire Film Fest, The 48 Hour Project, Scared For Your LIIFE, Strange Maynard Film Festival, and most recently The Long Island International Film Expo.

  • Manny is multi-award-winning Director, Editor, and Writer. In 2013, he was named HorrorSociety’s “Director of the Year” for his first feature film “Blood Slaughter Massacre”. In 2017, he wrote and directed his second feature film “Theta States” and co-wrote and co-directed “Dark Tales from Channel X” with his partner Lindsay.

Over the years, Manny has lent his hand as a Cinematographer, Editor, and Graphic Designer for numerous Tri-State indie features, short films, TV and web series, commercials, and theater productions including the TV series “Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead”, “Good Day” a Halloween-centric independent feature, and the web series “Holidays of Terror”.

Manny recently completed his work as the Technical Director for the Long Island International Film Expo from 2020 - 2024.

He is the co-host of the Haunted Hangover Podcast and is working on his fourth feature with HWA writer Marc Abbot.

  • Lindsay graduated from Long Island University with a BA in Media Arts with a double concentration in Production Management and Theater.  After graduation she worked as a production assistant and assistant stage manager in a number of independent film and theater projects. In 2008 Lady Lazarus: Raising Sylvia Plath, a play she wrote and directed, was performed at the Ryan Repertory Theatre in Brooklyn. In 2009 she was hired at the haunted attraction, Blood Manor, where she later became the Lead Makeup Artist and Creative Team Head through 2010.

Lindsay co-directed The Attack of the Brain People and guest directed an episode of Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead before completing her solo directorial debut with the short Beneath, for which she was awarded Best Horror Director and Best First-time Director. Her most recent short MissUnderstood Monster was nominated for a Rondo Award for Best Short Film.

Lindsay has worked with a number of independent films companies as a First AD and Production Manager including Devarez Films, New Needle Productions, Seeing Red, and Intention Films and Media. She has been a Critique Director for casting director Pamela Kramer’s “Dying For the Camera” class, and recently completed her term as Vice President and Secretary of the Long Island Film & TV Foundation.
